About Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka
The Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, organized in phrases of the Act of Parliament No. 74 of 1981 of the Democratic Socialistic Republic of Sri Lanka was ceremonially exposed on the 22nd day of April 1982.
The main goals of this Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPU) are the dissemination of Buddha Dhamma, the promo of the Buddhist & Pali studies in Sri Lanka and in foreign countries and the provision of conveniences for the execute of research in the appropriate fields.

Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka Objectives
The goals that were elemental to the organization of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPU) in terms of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka Act No. 74 of 1981 as amended by the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka Act No. 37 of 1995: –
- The coaching of savants in the Buddhist Doctrine and Discipline for the objective of the dissemination of Buddhism and nurturing of Buddhist missionary actions in Sri Lanka and in foreign countries.
- The promo of the study of the Pali Language, Buddhist Culture and Buddhist Philosophy in Sri Lanka and abroad, and the enhancer of those studies as befitting the contemporary world tendencies.
- The teaching of the student monks and the lay male students to educate Buddhism and Pali Language in the Pirivenas, Schools and in related institutions.
- The provision of features to maintain and promote politeness and calmness and mental discipline among the student monks and the lay male students.
- Any other matter related with or additional to the over quests.

Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka Admissions Policy
- Admission of students to Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka is being done on the time frame of an admission scheme laid down by the act of the Buddhist and Pali University and Council of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPU).
- The subsequent admission policy will fill out an application in admiration of the academic year 2011 & admission to Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka.

Such candidates, who want to extend their registration, should get the written approval from the Registrar, before the registration is done.

Vacancies produced due to the preferred candidates who did not get themselves authorized in due time are filled up according to a precedence list. The appeals made by the candidates, those who did not get their subscription done, previous, will not be kept entertained once the vacancies are filled up.
