The Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (FIA) is one of the 4 Faculties of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL).
The South Eastern University of Sri Lanka was organized as the South Eastern University College of Sri Lanka and started to function from 27th July 1995. It was then improved to the position of the fully-fledged University. South Eastern University of Sri Lanka from 15th May 1996. The other 3 faculties of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL) are Faculty of Arts and Culture, Faculty of Management and Commerce and Faculty of Applied Sciences. Faculty of Applied Sciences is located at Sammanthurai and other 3 Faculties are positioned at the main site of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL) at Oluvil.
