National Defence University Islamabad admission section is a Pakistani military institution started in 1963, when the 1st Army War Course began at the Command line and Staff College, Quetta. Eventually, in 1971, a devoted NDU was founded at the old constructing of the National Assembly of Pakistan in Rawalpindi. In 1995, the National Defence College altered to its current campus at the foothills of Margalla, Islamabad.

The library is stored with 70, 000 books, professional journals and other components on subjects of interest which includes military history, defence and security studies, nuclear studies, foreign relations, tranquility and turmoil studies, governance and public policy, economics, politics, foreign relations, Pakistan affairs, Islam, etc. The books have been categorized using Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme (DDC).
