Ameer-ud-din Medical College Lahore Admission

 Ameer-Ud-Din Medical College, Lahore abbreviated as ADMC is a public sector medical institute located in Lahore. It is also known as Post Graduate Medical Institution (PGMI). The institute was established in 2012. It is one of the five public sector medical institutions established in Lahore, Punjab Pakistan. The degree offered by the college is recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and institute is approved by the Ministry of Health. The college was named after a memorable surgeon Prof Dr. Ameer-Ud-Din to pay him honor, who was a professor of Surgery in King Edward Medical College. Ameer-U-D-Din was serving as a senior professor of surgery in MYO Hospital Lahore at the time of Partition.

The institute is affiliated with university of Health Sciences Lahore. Currently the institute is sharing the building with PGMI as its permanent building is under construction. The principle of the college Dr. Anjum Habib Vohr said in a press release that the college will shift to its permanent building before passing out of the first batch. The institute has various research labs like anatomy, Biochemistry, Chemical Pathology, Physiology and Forensic Medicine. There is also an audio visualizer department that facilitates the teachers and researchers in their research.

Degree offered:

The college offers 5 years bachelor program leading to MBBS degree. The curriculum of the degree conforms the requirements of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) which is regulating body and providing the practice license of medical colleges in Pakistan. Upon satisfactory contribution from the students in study and successful completion of 5 years of academic studies, student is awarded by the degree of MBBS from University of Health Sciences Lahore. Admission offered annually by the institute.

Admission Procedure:

For admission the candidate needs to appear in MCAT test conducted by the University of Health Sciences. Admissions are provided at open merit in all Pakistan. Admission forms can be download from the university website or collected from the university campus

Eligibility Criteria:

The students which are cleared higher secondary school certificate with 60% marks are eligible to appear in admission test.

Teaching hospital:

Lahore General Hospital is attached with the college as training and teaching hospital since the inception of Ameer-ud-din Medical College. In this hospital the students perform their clinical practice. The hospital is one of the largest and oldest hospitals in Lahore and was established in 1958. The hospital is known by the neurosurgery department.
