Azad Jammu Kashmir Medical College is a public sector institution in the state of AJK. The need of public and private institutes of medicine in the state of AJK assumed after the critical situation created by the earthquake of 2005, when seriously injured patients need to be shifted to Islamabad. AT that time the roads were broken down and the process of shifting patients took several hours.
Authorities make a sensible decision for launching institutions of medicines and state of the art health care facilities in the state. Azad Jammu Kashmir Medical College is also one of the medical institutions came into existence after the final decision of the authority. It is a public sector institute and funded by the Government of AJK. The college started enrollment of students from the year of 2012. The numbers of students enrolled annually are 100.

Admission Procedure and Fee Structure:

For admission in MBBS at AJK MC the candidate needs to appear in state entry test for the academic year of 2022-2023. For this purpose admissions forms are available in the admission office of the below mentioned medical institutes.

  • AJ & KMC Muzaffarabad
  • MBBS MC Mirpur
  • PMC Rawalakot

Completely filled Application forms along with prescribed documents copies and processing must be submitted at the same centers. Candidate must select the test center from the options given at the application form. The data related to entrance exams available at the official website of AJK or may also be downloaded from the website of UHS.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate must pass the higher secondary school certificate (Pre-Medical group) with at least 60% marks. Foreign candidate with equivalent qualification and passed Biology, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects are also eligible. They required producing equivalence certificate issued by the IBCC Islamabad.
