Darul Ihsan University (DIU) is the 1st non-public university in Bangladesh founded in 1989 by Darul Ihsan Trust (DIT). It attained formal acceptance from the Government of Bangladesh in 1993 under the Non-public University Act 1992. The Darul Ihsan University, a brainchild of Late Professor Syed Ali Ashraf (Who was also its president Vice-Chancellor), is a Distinctive Academic organization, the only one of its variety in the country, contemporary in perspective but faith-based in philosophy.

Admissions
How to apply
Students have to fill out an application for admission in University prescribed application form. The application form and other related papers can be attained from the Departmental Office for a fee of Tk. 300/-. Finished application coupled with 2-duplicate passport size and one duplicate stamp size photograph, Certificates and mark sheets of SSC, & HSC, or comparative examinations and testimonial both SSC & HSC should be posted to the admission office.
