Gulab Devi chest hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in Lahore city. The hospital was established in 1934.The population in the city of Lahore is has crossed the mark of 9 million. The hospital is known for specialized treatment of respiratory diseases particularly TUBERCULOSIS. Apart from, cardiac diseases are also treated here.
Gulab Devi Post Graduate Medical Institute:
In order to achieve the objectives of providing high quality postgraduate education in the field of health care, the administration of the Gulab Devi hospital started working for construction of post graduate medical institute. The foundation stone of the institute lay down in the year of 2003. The construction was completed in the year of 2004. The hospital is accredited from the College of Physician and Surgeon for the training of FCPS in cardiology and training in pulmonology for DCPS. The cardiology department of the hospital is recognized for training of MRCP by the Royal College of Physician in England Till present two doctors have completed the degree of FCPS from CPSP. 6 post graduate doctors are enrolled for further FCPS cardiology training in the cardiology department of the Gulab Devi PG medical institute.6 students have passed their part-I of MRCP from cardiology department. A part from the above 5 doctors have completed their MRCP part-II.

For all programs (B.Sc. and PDT) the admission forms are available in the admission office at Rs. 1500. Forms can also be downloaded from the website of the institute and sent to the admission office along with bank draft of Rs 1500. Admission test are scheduled by University of Health Sciences Lahore.
Eligibility Criteria:
For B.Sc. programs
For all B.Sc. programs and Doctor of Physiotherapy the candidate must have F.Sc. Pre medical with at least 50% marks.
For PGD Programs
For PGD in cardiology the candidate must have MBBS degree with one year experience in General medicine as a medical office or house physician. The experience may also be six months in cardiology and six months in Allied Specialty. For PGD in TB and Chest diseases the candidate should have MBBS with one year experience as medical officer or house physician in TB and Chest diseases.
