Propagate around 1200 acres of land, University of Karachi Admissions was founded through the parliament as a Federal University in 1951. On the other hand, through another act of the parliament in 1962 its rank was redefined as University of Karachi of the province of Sindh. On 23rd October, 1950 UOK Act was exceeded and after an variation in 1951, it was ratified and Prof A. B. A Haleem was equipped as its first Vice Chancellor.
For the first 2 years, the UOK stayed as an examination for the associated colleges. In the year 1953, it commenced its educating and study activities at 2 Faculties of Arts and Science. Opened with an initial intake of 50 students.
University of Karachi Admissions is now a sprawling construction of 53 Departments and 20 world class and extremely reliable Research Centers and Institutes, under eight faculties of Arts, Science, Islamic Studies, Pharmacy, Management and Administrative Sciences, Law, Education and Medicine. At present, the enrollment of normal learners at the Campus is marginally around 24, 000. There are over 800 teachers and over 2500 promoting employees.
